JAKARTA: Coal miner PT Indo Tambangraya Megah (ITMG) has announced that its production volume increased by about 10 percent in the first quarter of the year to around 5.72 million metric tons of coal, from 5.2 million metric tons in the same period a year ago.
“Sales volume will follow production volume,” Indo Tambangraya’s finance director, Edward Manurung, said. The company has yet to publish its first quarter financial report.
Indo Tambangraya has targeted production to reach 27 million metric tons of coal this year, up 8 percent from last year’s 25 million metric tons.
Edward added that Indo Tambangraya would see lower production volumes at several of its mining sites due to declining coal reserves.
